Ravens Stifle Steelers Offense

Even when either the Baltimore Ravens or the Pittsburgh Steelers are having a down year, their two annual games against each other are typically close, physical contests.

This was not quite the case Sunday. The Ravens held the Steelers to 69 total yards before their first scoring drive midway through the fourth quarter, en route to a 21-14 victory. The final score was not indicative of how competitive the game was.

The Ravens defense looked like one of the elite Ravens defenses of the early 2000’s as they were able to contain Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers offense through three and a half quarters. On offense, the Ravens’ biggest play of the game came on a 95-yard strike from Joe Flacco to former Steeler, Mike Wallace. The Ravens also scored on a blocked punt return, making it 21-0 before Pittsburgh could even crack triple digits of total yardage.

It was no surprised that fans of both teams had a lot to say during this game. Take a look at the minute-by-minute social recap of Steelers vs. Ravens, courtesy of Social Delta.

The Baltimore Ravens completely stifled the Pittsburgh offense until late in the fourth quarter, when the Steelers made it a one-score game, only to execute one of the worst onside kicks of all time.
