ABC picked the right game to highlight on a national audience this past Saturday. The company aired a matchup between the defending NBA champion Golden State Warriors and arguably their biggest competition in the Western Conference, the Oklahoma City Thunder. The game lived up to its billing, with the two teams battling throughout a highly-contested fourth quarter, which led to an overtime period that had the attention of everyone from start to, incredible, finish. And in that finish, Steph Curry added another highlight to his ever-growing collection.
With the game tied at 118-118 and seconds trickling away, Curry launched a shot from 32 feet away for the win and sunk it like it was nothing.
Curry is, without a doubt, playing better than his MVP season of last year. He is once again must-see television whenever he takes the floor. And people are noticing. On Twitter during the waning seconds of the fourth quarter, and throughout the entire overtime, posts came flooding in on Social Delta about the Warriors vs. Thunder game. Take a look at the graph of tweets for this game during the overtime period and when Curry hit his game-winner.
