Before the Academy Awards even started, Chris Rock had a lot of pressure from “unemployed people” to back down from hosting the 88th Academy Awards due to the #OscarsSoWhite controversy. During his 10 minute opening monologue, he took time to talk about the concerns that were brought to him in a funny way that allowed everyone to think about the controversies. Audiences all over had a lot to say about his monologue and just as he was not shy about his feelings, twitter users who were following the #oscars were not as well.
